Working with Llewellyn and Erhard from Refresh Design on the renovation of our 1910 Queensland worker’s cottage was a true collaboration and such a wonderful experience. From the outset, we were committed to preserving as much of the original cottage and its character as possible, and the team understood and embraced that vision completely.
Refresh Design took a thoughtful and considered approach to preserving and enhancing our existing home, while designing the most extraordinary pavilion that sits quietly behind the original cottage. The result has transformed the way we live, without compromising the history, character or scale of the original house.
With my background in interior design, it was important to Sarah and I that we could work closely with Llewellyn and Erhard throughout the design process. They were incredibly open to our vision for the interiors and garden, and this collaborative approach allowed the architecture, interiors and landscape to come together as one cohesive home — generous, calm, welcoming and beautifully considered.
What we valued most was their expertise, care and attention to detail, particularly in working within the constraints of our small suburban block. The finished home is exactly what we hoped it could be.
