CEDAR CREEK RESIDENCE
Sustainable New Build Home
Location
Samford Valley, QLD
Timeline
2015
In a rural setting on a site with sweeping views, elemental building materials including rammed earth, concrete, steel, timber and glass are explored for a sustainable home that blends with the landscape and engages with the environment. Respecting a small onsite creek, the house integrates into the landscape and avoids artificially created flat areas. A pool is wedged between the slope and the house with a covered entertaining area beside. The elongated design takes full advantage of the views, which can be enjoyed from every room. Solid materials and passive solar design add ideal thermal qualities to the home.
